Hello fellow bikers! The season is starting to take shape. Trail Days, Group Rides and the Spring Kickoff PaRtY are just around the corner!
What would you like to accomplish this year, ...things we should do or not do? We want to hear from you! Post your ideas here or email Alana at alaneric@cmchd.org.
Also, attached is the 2010 CIMBA membership form. $25 includes t-shirt, local discounts, but most importantly helps build a better trail system, supports cycling advocacy, and provides educational opportunities.
Little Bear Basin – Mountain bikers join us for a volunteer work day improving existing trails or a guided ride of some of Little Bear Basin trails to learn more about biking mountain trails. It should be fun for all!
Sponsored by the McCall District of the Payette National Forest and Ponderosa State Park of the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation
Special volunteers from Central Idaho Mountain Bike Association (CIMBA)
Apr. 29--Mountain bikers are fighting the potential loss of a short, four-season section of trail along Rapid River that has been open for decades because of a regulatory oversight.
The Nez Perce National Forest is likely to close the bottom four miles of the trail to mechanized travel, which includes mountain bike riding.
New pathway agreement has been reached between McCall River Ranch and Valley County Pathways! Volunteer trail day is Saturday, May 8. Meet at 9 a.m.on Saturday, May 8, at River Ranch. We have quite a bit of trail-brushing and saw work to be done.
Directions: Head to Ponderosa State Park, pass parking kiosk, look for signs to the left for University of Idaho/MOSS. Go left down this road and continue to the parking area. Go to the Classroom Building following the signs from the parking area.
Cost: Free, but limited to 10 participants so please RSVP to Alana_erick@yahoo.com or 315-1319
Riders are gathering and volunteers are needed to help create a new riding opportunity! Volunteers should meet at 10:00 am at Shoreline Campground. The campground is located on Warm Lake (just follow the signs to North Shore Lodge) and at the campground there is a large parking area in front of the campground gate that is the new trailhead. The work day will involve cleaning up behind the mini-ex. We will be using some hand tools for tread work and also some loppers or brushing type tools. Tools provided so just show up.
There will be a group ride this Tuesday. Karen T will lead it starting at 5:30. Meet at the bottom of Potter Lane. If people start out later, the ride is going to be doing laps on that trail. So if you stay low, we'll all likely be able to hook up at some point. Fall riding is in the air!
Brundage Mountain’s Bike Trails are now completely closed for the season. Jon Crist and his crew have been approved to make some major upgrades and they are already attacking our trails aggressively so that they can be completed by winter and ready next spring! We know a lot of people like to climb UP our trails now that the lifts are closed, but this year, they will not be able to do so for safety reasons. Thanks!
