Women’s bike maintenance and emergency repair clinic!
The McCall Outdoor Science School/University of Idaho Field Campus is hosting a women’s bike maintenance and emergency trail repair clinic.
Date: Saturday, November 7th
Time: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Location: MOSS
Directions: Head to Ponderosa State Park, pass parking kiosk, look for signs to the left for University of Idaho/MOSS. Go left down this road and continue to the parking area. Go to the Classroom Building following the signs from the parking area.
Cost: Free, but limited to 10 participants so please RSVP to Alana_erick@yahoo.com or 315-1319
Each participant will receive a tube, patch kit, set of tire iron, a multitool (courtesy of the MOSS program) and a mini McCall ride guide (courtesy of the Central Idaho Mountain Bike Association aka CIMBA).
CLASS OVERVIEW
· ROUTINE PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE – each ride, every few rides, every season – take care of your bike for longest possible use, enhance riding experience and help avoid trail emergencies
· PREPARATION/WHAT TO BRING/DO ON YOUR RIDES – what to carry with you and safety tips to avoid bad situations.
· TRAILSIDE REPAIRS – if something does happen, how do you fix your bike and continue the ride or get home? Flats, shifting problems, brake problems (v-brakes, disc brakes), suspension problems, chain problems, pedal problems, cable problems, etc.
